About Katherine Johnston, MEd.

Kathy’s philosophy mirrors that of Dr. Montessori in the belief that the child should be cherished and the center of their educational process. She has spent close to twenty five years in the field of education. She received her undergraduate degree in Child Development/Family Relations from the University of Maine and her Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Montessori from Endicott College, Beverly, MA. She is also a member of the American Montessori Society.

Kathy has first hand experience in creating and ensuring children and families receive the highest quality program available by national standards. She looks forward to bringing this knowledge and skill to the children and families of Grace Montessori.

To provide a warm loving, nurturing environment that offers a quality early childhood educational experience that is rich in the teachings of Maria Montessori, supporting the development of the whole child, mind, body, and spirit. Each child will have an opportunity to discover their own gifts, talents and develop a strong sense of self along with love of self with the ultimate goal of seeing themselves as Peace-Makers. The school is part of a greater community that is dedicated to supporting families and their children, promoting the premise that it takes a village to raise a child.
